Northern Regions Tilt Toward Haruna Iddrisu as NDC Race Remains Fluid

Fresh insights monitored by News Volta indicate that Haruna Iddrisu is maintaining a strong lead in the northern belt as the National Democratic Congress leadership race intensifies.

According to a March 2026 tracking poll by Global InfoAnalytics, Haruna commands 42% support across the five northern regions, significantly ahead of Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang (16%), Johnson Asiedu Nketia (15%), and Cassiel Ato Forson (9%).

Spy checks suggest Haruna’s influence is extending beyond traditional party bases, gaining traction among floating voters and opposition supporters, reinforcing his position as a strong contender.

However, further monitoring indicates that in scenarios where Haruna is absent, the contest between Ato Forson and Asiedu Nketia becomes highly competitive, with both candidates splitting support across voter groups.

Notably, nearly 25% of voters remain undecided, a factor analysts say could significantly shift the outcome depending on campaign strategies and alliances.

The data highlights a clear north-south divide, with Haruna dominating the northern regions while other contenders appear to hold influence in different parts of the country.

News Volta will continue to monitor developments as the NDC leadership race evolves.
