Volta Youth Development Fund Gets Governing Board to Drive Youth Entrepreneurship

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has inaugurated a nine-member Board of Trustees for the Volta Youth Development Fund (VYDF), marking a major step toward strengthening youth empowerment and economic growth in the region.
The Board has been tasked to oversee the administration, ensure accountability, and guarantee the long-term sustainability of the Fund.
The VYDF aims to support youth entrepreneurship and startups, Promote job creation and innovation
Stimulate economic growth across the Volta Region


The initiative is a collaborative effort between the Regional Minister and key stakeholders, designed to provide financial and technical support to young people seeking to build businesses and careers.


The Board is chaired by Togbe Komla Sakpiti V, with Stephen Komla Dan Timinca serving as Administrator.

Administering the oath of office in Ho, Mr. Gunu described the inauguration as a significant milestone in the region’s development agenda.
He emphasized that the Fund will play a crucial role in unlocking the potential of young people, reducing unemployment, and fostering sustainable economic opportunities.

The Board is expected to implement policies that will ensure transparent fund management
Provide equitable access to funding
Support skills development and innovation
Stakeholders believe the VYDF will serve as a game-changer for youth empowerment in the Volta Region if effectively managed.
