More than 4,224 Junior High School candidates preparing for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Ketu South Municipality are set to benefit from an educational support initiative spearheaded by Torgbui Tenuvi II Felix Akonta Akakpo.
The intervention is aimed at easing the burden on students and parents while improving academic performance ahead of the national examination conducted by the West African Examinations Council.

As part of the initiative, students are expected to receive key learning and examination materials considered critical for BECE success, including:
Exercise books and revision materials
Pens, pencils, erasers and mathematical sets
Scientific calculators (where permitted)
School bags and basic stationery kits
Past questions and answer booklets for revision
Mock examination support and extra classes
Education stakeholders note that access to these materials can significantly enhance student preparedness, confidence, and performance during the exams.

The support from Torgbui Tenuvi II is expected to help bridge resource gaps faced by many candidates, particularly in underserved communities within the municipality.
It also reinforces the role of traditional leadership in promoting education and youth development in the Volta Region.

Residents and education officials have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that will help ensure that no candidate is disadvantaged due to lack of basic learning tools.
With thousands of candidates preparing for the BECE, such support is expected to contribute to improved outcomes and greater educational opportunities for students across Ketu South.

News Volta will continue to monitor this initiative and its impact on education in the municipality as the 2026 BECE approaches.
