Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana To Fund Over 5,000 Capacity FIFA Standard Multi-Purpose Sports Complex In Agbozume Somé – Hugh Aryee

PROF. HUGH ARYEE, Vanuatu Trade Commissioner to Ghana Speaking at a grand durbar of Chiefs, Queen mothers and Elders to climax activities that marked SOMÉ TUTUZA festival at Agbozume the traditional capital on Saturday September 28th 2024
In the spirit of giving back and as a token of gratitude, has announced building of over 5000 capacity multiple spots complex, a aproject that will bring significant development to the Somè Traditional Area.

According to Prof Hugh Aryee Vanuatu Trade Commissioner this project is more than just infrastructure but a very comprehensive initiative aimed at transforming lives, fostering economic growth, and ensuring sustainable development for generations to come.

“That upon receiving the invitation from the Torgbui Adamah (III), I made it a priority to visit this site and assess its potential for such a monumental project. On two separate occasions, I personally inspected the location to ensure its suitability. After thorough evaluation, I was confident that the recommendations met the necessary standards to bring significant benefits to Agbozume community and the Volta Region as a whole.

Through the generous support of the African Diaspora Central Bank, we are set to embark on the construction of a state-of-the-art multi-purpose sports complex and the modernization of the existing school in Agbozume, right here in the Ketu South District”” he said.

The Multi-Purpose Sports Complex
when built will lights up a vision to create a world-class facility that will serve as a central hub for sporting activities, cultural events, and community gatherings. The complex will have a seating capacity of 5,000, making it one of the most significant sporting venues in our region.

The complex will feature the ;

  • A FIFA-standard Astroturf football pitch, designed to host both local and national tournaments, attracting talent from across the country.
  • Courts for basketball and volleyball, providing opportunities for our youth to engage in a variety of sports.
  • Modern amenities, including advanced lighting systems for evening events, ensuring that activities can continue seamlessly even after the sun sets.
  • Facilities designed to be inclusive, with accessibility features for people with disabilities, ensuring that every member of our community can participate in the activities held here.

This very sports complex is not just about athletics; it is about creating a space where our community can come together, celebrate our achievements, and nurture the next generation of leaders and champions. By hosting regional and national events, this complex will draw significant attention to our area, bringing with it economic benefits that will uplift our entire Ketu South and Volta Region.

Prof Hugh Aryee concluded, and said I stand here today not just as your Special Guest of Honor, but as a son of the soil, committed to the growth and prosperity of this land. This project represents my deep-seated desire to uplift our community, to honor our past, and to build a brighter future for our children and grandchildren.

Prof. Hugh Aryee, at ground durbar present the official documents and design prototype for the project to the chiefs and people of Agbozume and was accompanied by he esteemed colleagues, Mr. Daniel Glover, Special Advisor to the Vanuatu Trade Commission Ghana, and Dr. David King Boison, the Project Lead Consultant and creator of this concept, The Executive Secretary to the Vanuatu Trade Commission Ms Belinda Ewoenam Nyamadi, The Business and Trade Promotions Manager Mr. Asiwome Kwame Dzineku and Mr. Kofi Senyo, Marketing manager.
