Ketu South Municipal Hold Orientation Program For Newly Elected & Appointees Assembly Members

Ketu South Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the Ministry of Local Government and rural Development (MLGD) and Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS) organized a two days orientation and training program for newly constituted Assembly members at the municipal hall on Monday 7th October 2024
The newly appointed and elected members of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly have partake in a two-day orientation and training programme to equip them to deliver on their mandate smoothly and sound.

The training focus on improving the knowledge and understanding of the newly elected and appointed members of Ketu South, educating the Assembly members in public management and development and also the institute is backed by Act of Parliament 647 of 2003 and is meant to enable all Assembly Members to know more about Local Government in order to equip them to deliver and make impact wherever they find themselves.

Mr. Jonathan Azasu a facilitatetor from the Ministry of Local Government and rural Development (MLGD) and Institute of Local Government Studies (ILGS)
took them through topics like‘Ghana’s Decentralization Policy and Local Governance System’ and ‘District Assemblies and Public Health Emergency, the assembly committees and roles of assembly members, finances of the assembly and model standing orders etc

The Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Gilbert Avemeagh called on Assembly Members and Government Appointees to carry out their duties diligently as worthy representatives of their electorates. Also went on to advise all Assembly Members to play major role in developing their communities at the grassroot level.
