Torgbui Tenuvi Stool Is for Development, Not Politics – Torgbui Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V

The Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Council, Torgbuiga Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V, has clarified that the enstoolment of Torgbui Tenuvi II (Mr. Felix Akonta Akakpo) was purely for development purposes and not to promote any political ambition or parliamentary agenda in the Ketu South Constituency.

He made this clarification during the official sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the Ketu South Municipal Health Directorate Office Complex on Friday , 6th February 2026, at the Ketu South Municipal Assembly premises.

According to the Paramount Chief, his decision to install Torgbui Tenuvi II as a development chief was guided strictly by his proven commitment to community development, philanthropy, and social transformation, and not political considerations.

“I did not enstool Torgbui Tenuvi II to introduce anybody for parliamentary ambitions. I enstooled him to bring development to the Aflao Traditional Area and the entire Ketu South Municipality,” Torgbuiga Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V stressed.

The Paramount Chief explained that recent political tensions and the approaching 2028 parliamentary primaries have created unnecessary speculation, with some sections of the public wrongly interpreting the role of the Torgbui Tenuvi stool.

“Some people are pointing fingers at me, thinking I am positioning someone politically. That is not true. This stool is about development, unity, and progress,” he stated.

He urged residents to separate chieftaincy from partisan politics and focus instead on collective development efforts.

Development Legacy of Torgbui Tenuvi Stool

Providing historical context, the Paramount Chief explained that Komla Dumor, the celebrated Ghanaian journalist, was the first to occupy the Torgbui Tenuvi stool as Torgbui Tenuvi I, with the sole mission of championing development and positive social change.

He said the same development-driven vision continues today with Mr. Felix Akonta Akakpo as Torgbui Tenuvi II.

“The Torgbui Tenuvi stool is a development stool. It was created to attract progress, investment, innovation, and social transformation for our people,” he emphasized.

Call for Development-Oriented Mindset

Torgbuiga Adzonugaga Amenya Fiti V used the occasion to appeal to the people of Ketu South to adopt a development-oriented mindset, urging them to support any native who demonstrates genuine commitment to progress, regardless of background or affiliation.

“We must support anyone who wants to develop our land. Development has no political colour. It is for everyone,” he said.

In his remarks, Torgbui Tenuvi II (Felix Akonta Akakpo) reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to development, social welfare, education, health, and youth empowerment, stressing that his role is purely developmental and non-partisan.

He pledged to continue mobilising resources and partnerships to drive transformative projects across the Aflao Traditional Area and Ketu South Municipality.

The sod-cutting ceremony, which marked the commencement of the ultra-modern Municipal Health Directorate Office Complex, also witnessed the donation of 400 bags of cement to schools across the municipality, further underlining his commitment to education and infrastructure development.

The event ended with a collective call for unity, peace, and development-driven collaboration, as traditional leaders, political officeholders, and community members reaffirmed their commitment to building a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Ketu South.
