Leaders of the Muslim community have expressed deep appreciation to the Member of Parliament for the constituency and Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie for her generous support to Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan.
The MP on March 8, 2026, donated assorted food items and essential supplies to various Zongo communities in the constituency at her office in Awakorme as part of efforts to support Muslim households observing the fasting period.
The items presented included bags of rice, cartons of sardines, cartons of tomato paste, boxes of Nido milk, spaghetti, Lipton tea, cooking oil, and streetlights, among other items intended to support families during Ramadan.

The donation also provided an opportunity for the MP to interact with leaders of the Zongo communities and discuss issues affecting their communities, while strengthening the relationship between the constituency leadership and Muslim residents.
Following the exercise, the NDC Zongo Caucus Coordinator for Ketu South, Alhaji Anebi Issah, issued a press statement joyfully applauding the MP for what he described as a thoughtful and compassionate gesture toward the Muslim community.
According to him, the donation reflects the MP’s consistent commitment to inclusiveness and community welfare across the constituency.
He noted that Hon. Gomashie has over the years maintained a strong relationship with the Zongo communities, particularly during important religious periods such as Ramadan, when many families rely on community support.
“On behalf of the Zongo communities in Ketu South, we express our heartfelt gratitude to Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie for this kind and generous support during the holy month of Ramadan,” the statement said.

Alhaji Anebi Issah further described the MP’s gesture as a demonstration of leadership that values unity, compassion, and respect for all religious groups within the constituency.
He also indicated that the support has brought relief and encouragement to many Muslim families, especially at a time when the spiritual significance of Ramadan calls for community solidarity and mutual assistance.
The Zongo Caucus Coordinator added that the leadership of the Muslim communities in Ketu South would continue to pray for the MP and support her efforts toward development across the constituency.
He further urged Muslims observing Ramadan to continue praying for peace, unity, and progress for Ghana and for the leadership, as the country pursues its development agenda.
