Hon. Abla Gomashie Supports Muslim Communities in Ketu South with Ramadan Donations

The Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has once again demonstrated her unwavering commitment to the welfare of Muslim communities in the constituency by donating assorted food items and essential supplies to support them during the holy month of Ramadan.

The donation exercise took place on March 8th, 2026, at the MP’s office in Awakorme, where leaders and representatives from several Zongo communities gathered to receive the items.

The gesture forms part of Hon. Gomashie’s long-standing tradition of supporting Muslim communities within the constituency, particularly during significant religious periods. Over the years, she has maintained close engagement with Zongo communities in Ketu South, demonstrating a leadership approach that emphasizes inclusiveness and social welfare.

Items presented to the communities included:

  • Bags of rice
  • Cartons of sardines
  • Cartons of tomato paste
  • Boxes of Nido milk
  • Boxes of spaghetti
  • Boxes of Lipton tea
  • Cartons of cooking oil
  • Boxes of streetlights

The supplies are expected to help Muslim families in the constituency during the fasting period when food support becomes particularly important for daily meals after sunset.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both the MP and community representatives to discuss development concerns within the Zongo areas and explore ways to deepen collaboration in addressing them.

Community leaders who attended the event expressed appreciation for the consistent support they have received from the MP over the years.

Beyond the donation, Hon. Gomashie held discussions with leaders from various Zongo communities across the constituency. The engagement formed part of her routine interactions with community and religious leaders aimed at strengthening relationships and understanding issues affecting local communities.

According to them, Hon. Gomashie’s commitment to the welfare of Zongo communities has brought hope and relief to many families, especially during religious periods such as Ramadan.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Gomashie extended warm Ramadan greetings to Muslims across Ketu South and encouraged them to use the holy month to pray for peace, unity, and progress in the country.

She also urged the Muslim faithful to remember and his family in their prayers, asking for divine guidance for the President as he leads Ghana’s development agenda.

Leaders of the Zongo communities also assured the MP of their continued support and prayers as she works toward improving development and social welfare across the constituency.
