Speaking during an engagement with the Aflao Traditional Council in Ketu South Municipality, the Minister cautioned that any person or group found creating illegal ramps will face sanctions.
Mr. Gunu noted that the growing practice of mounting unapproved speed ramps and stopovers poses serious risks to both road infrastructure and motorists.
- Damage to vehicles, especially suspensions and tyres
- Increased risk of road accidents due to abrupt braking
- Obstruction of emergency services such as ambulances and fire trucks
- Faster deterioration of roads, leading to costly repairs
- Disruption of smooth traffic flow
The Minister called on chiefs and queen mothers to help protect the road and discourage residents from engaging in such practices.
He assured the community that the road project will be fully completed, adding that contractors are actively working, with some portions already asphalted.
Mr. Gunu emphasized that the “Big Push” Road is a major development project, and maintaining its quality requires collective responsibility from all stakeholders.
