The Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has expressed appreciation to the Aflao Traditional Council for their continuous support and leadership in the constituency.
She commended the Paramount Chief and President of the Council, Torgbuiga Amenya Fiti V, together with the queen mothers, divisional chiefs, and sub-chiefs for their contributions before and during her tenure as MP.
Hon. Gomashie donated 50 plastic chairs and GH₵20,000 to the Council
She also highlighted her traditional role as Mamaa Dzramedo I, emphasizing her commitment to mentoring children, supporting women, and promoting moral values.
The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, donated GH₵10,000, reaffirming the commitment of the National Democratic Congress and John Dramani Mahama to bring more development projects to Ketu South and the Volta Region.
The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, also supported the Council with GH₵10,000. She urged residents of Ketu South to remain calm and supportive, assuring them of government’s continued focus on development in the region.
In the remarks, Torgbuiga Amenya Fiti V welcomed the support and commended the government officials for their commitment to the development of Aflao.
He further recommended the urgent renovation and upgrading of the Aflao Traditional Council office, including the provision of modern facilities such as offices and washrooms, to enable the Council function effectively.
He also called for continued collaboration between government and traditional authorities to accelerate development and improve the welfare of the people.
