Police Arrest Seven In Ho Over Human Trafficking, Rescue 48 Victims

The Ghana Police Service has arrested seven suspected members of a human trafficking syndicate and rescued forty-eight victims in Ho in the Volta Region.
The arrests followed two separate intelligence-led operations carried out on January 8 and 10, 2026, at Fiave Dablah Ayekple Street, Ho CK Road, and Somey Junction.

The suspects have been identified as Emmanuel Asiamah, Frimpong Jerry, Paul Mensah, Bismark Perry, Vida Gefah, Ebenezer Kwabena Owusu, and Prince Kaku.
Police investigations indicate that the victims—mainly young adults and students—were lured with false promises of overseas travel and employment opportunities. They were allegedly subjected to deceptive and coercive conditions after making payments to the syndicate.

During the operations, officers retrieved assorted documents, including official-looking receipts reportedly issued to victims after they paid various sums of money for supposed visa and travel processing. Other materials seized are believed to be linked to the syndicate’s fraudulent activities.
All seven suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. Efforts are underway to trace the parents and relatives of the rescued victims, while a manhunt has been launched for other suspects believed to be connected to the network.

The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling organised criminal groups and protecting citizens, particularly young people, from trafficking and related scams.
