The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has received a donation of ten (10) solar streetlights from Mr. Amar Hari Singh, Chief Executive Officer of IPMC Ghana, in support of ongoing efforts to enhance community safety and promote sustainable energy use across the region.
The donation, made under IPMC’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, aims to provide reliable lighting in selected communities, improve night-time visibility, and contribute to the government’s renewable energy agenda.
Expressing his gratitude, Hon. Gunu commended the company for its thoughtful gesture, describing it as a timely contribution that complements the Volta Regional Coordinating Council’s (VRCC) development priorities.
“This support from IPMC aligns perfectly with our regional and national vision of expanding renewable energy infrastructure while ensuring safer, well-lit communities,” he said. “We will ensure the lights are installed strategically to benefit the areas that need them most.”
He further encouraged other corporate institutions to emulate IPMC’s example by forming partnerships with the VRCC to drive sustainable development initiatives across the region.
Mr. Singh, for his part, reaffirmed IPMC’s commitment to community-focused development, stating that the company remains dedicated to supporting education, technology, and environmental sustainability projects nationwide.
The donation is expected to enhance security, support small businesses operating at night, and improve the general quality of life for residents in beneficiary communities.
