The Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has donated 80 boxes of streetlights to support improved security and safety across the Ketu South Municipality.
The streetlights were presented through the Office of the Presiding Member (PM) and are to be distributed evenly among all electoral areas in the municipality. Under the arrangement, each Assembly Member will receive two boxes of streetlights for installation in their respective communities.
In addition to the donation, Hon. Gomashie has provided qualified electrical engineers to undertake free installation of the streetlights in all locations identified by the Assembly Members, ensuring the project is fully implemented without additional cost to the Assembly or communities.
The items were officially received by the Presiding Member of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly, Hon. Richard Nyavi, on behalf of the Assembly. Mr. Benbella Haliga, representing the Office of the MP, presented the streetlights and conveyed the MP’s commitment to community safety and development.
According to the MP, the initiative is aimed at reducing night-time crime, improving road visibility, and minimizing accidents, particularly in poorly lit communities and along busy streets.
The donation forms part of Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie’s broader efforts to strengthen infrastructure, security, and quality of life for residents of Ketu South.
