The demand for justice over the death of Christopher Ahordo, a mobile money vendor killed during an alleged robbery in April 2025, has resurfaced with renewed intensity as hundreds of youth from Aflao staged a protest at the Ketu Divisional Police Headquarters in Tokor.
Carrying placards and chanting for justice, the demonstrators expressed frustration over the pace of investigations and questioned why the prime suspect, Ali Tahibu, who was arrested shortly after the incident, allegedly escaped from custody at the Adaklu Area 51 Police Station.
The youth argued that more than a year after the tragic incident, the family and the community are still waiting for answers and accountability.
Youth leader Edem Viglo Mensah urged the Police Command to conduct an independent review of the conduct of investigating officers Nukporwoe Kwaku Kwao and Everton Kofi Kwao, questioning the circumstances under which the suspects were allegedly not presented before a court within the constitutionally required 48-hour period.

He further demanded that the Police Command issue a comprehensive public report explaining how the prime suspect managed to escape from custody at the Adaklu Area 51 Police Station and outline the measures being implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future.
According to the youth leader, transparency and accountability are essential to restoring public confidence in the criminal justice system and assuring the family of late Christopher Ahordo that justice will be pursued without fear or favour. The protesters called on the Ghana Police Service to conduct a transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suspect’s escape and to hold any officers found negligent accountable under the law.
They also appealed directly to the Inspector-General of Police to intervene and ensure that the investigation is concluded and those responsible for Christopher Ahordo’s death are brought before the courts.
Receiving the petition on behalf of the authorities, Nicholas Kwabla Worclachie, the Ketu South Municipal Chief Executive, acknowledged the concerns raised by the youth and expressed confidence in Ghana’s justice system. He assured the demonstrators that their petition would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities and that all issues raised would be addressed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana.
The MCE appealed for calm and patience, urging the youth to allow the legal process to take its course while assuring them that government remains committed to ensuring that justice is served.
