CEA Regional Director Commends Ketu South, Announces BECE Remedial Class Allocation

The Volta Regional Director of the Complementary Education Agency (CEA), , has paid a working visit to the Ketu South Complementary Education (CEA) Office to monitor activities, familiarize himself with operations, and encourage staff to intensify efforts toward effective service delivery.

The visit formed part of a broader regional monitoring and familiarization tour aimed at strengthening the implementation of complementary education programmes across the Volta Region.

Mr. Klu was accompanied by his entourage, including Mr. Israel Kpodo, Corporate Affairs Officer; Mr. Bright Kwame Adika, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer; and Mr. Stephen Ansah, a team member.

At the Ketu South CEA Office, the team was received by the Municipal Director, Mr. Forson Atsu Sotsiavi, together with staff of the agency.

Addressing the staff, Mr. Klu commended them for their dedication and encouraged them to strengthen their commitment to quality teaching and learning, while also opening more learning classes to expand access to education, especially for out-of-school children and marginalized learners.

In a major announcement, the Regional Director revealed that each region in Ghana has been allocated one BECE remedial class, and Ketu South Municipality has been selected to host the Volta Region’s remedial class, a recognition of the municipality’s strong performance in complementary education delivery.

“Fortunately, Ketu South has been chosen to represent the entire region in this important programme. This is a mark of confidence in your work and commitment,” Mr. Klu stated, urging staff to uphold high standards to justify the trust placed in them.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ketu South, , expressed delight at the visit and the allocation of the remedial class, pledging the Assembly’s full support for the programme. He noted that, as a former teacher, he deeply understands the importance of education and would personally ensure that the CEA receives the necessary backing to succeed.

“This visit is timely, and I am very happy about the opportunity given to Ketu South. Education remains my passion, and I will do everything possible to support the CEA to deliver on its mandate,” the MCE assured.

The visit ended with an interactive session, during which staff shared challenges, suggestions, and strategies aimed at improving complementary education delivery in the municipality.
