Residents of Abutia-Kloe in the Ho West District are appealing for urgent intervention to complete a stalled health facility and a key road project, warning that delays are affecting access to healthcare and slowing economic activities in the area.
The situation, monitored by News Volta from Channel One TV, highlights growing frustration among community members over the slow pace of development.

For years, residents have faced challenges accessing healthcare, often traveling long distances to seek basic medical services. A clinic project initiated in 2021 to address the situation remains uncompleted, leaving the existing health center overstretched.
Community leaders say the current facility is unable to meet the increasing number of patients, leading to frequent referrals to hospitals outside the area.
A local leader explained that although the health center has been beneficial, it lacks the capacity and resources to provide comprehensive care.
Residents note that pregnant women, children, and the elderly are the most affected, as they continue to endure long and sometimes risky journeys to access treatment.
The community had initiated the clinic project as a self-help effort, with hopes of improving healthcare delivery. However, progress has stalled due to lack of funding.
Beyond healthcare, concerns have also been raised about the delayed completion of the Abutia–Sokodze road. Residents describe the road as a critical link for transportation and trade but say construction has slowed significantly.
The Chief of Abutia-Kloe, Dr. Samuel Aisna, is calling on government and development partners to intervene.
He is urging authorities to support the completion of the health facility and ensure contractors return to site to expedite work on the road.
Residents believe that completing both projects will ease transportation challenges, improve healthcare access, and boost economic development in the community.
