The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, has led an inspection of the Government of Ghana’s Affordable Housing Project at Kpeve, as part of efforts to monitor ongoing development initiatives and strengthen security in the area.
The inspection was carried out together with the District Chief Executive for South Dayi, Hon. Courage Kokroko, and the DCE for Afadjato South, Hon. Manfred Tawiah.

Following the inspection, the Regional Minister handed over a pickup vehicle to the Kpeve District Police Headquarters to support police operations. The vehicle, donated by philanthropist BSK, is expected to enhance mobility, response time and general policing activities within the district.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the Police Service, the Volta Regional Police Commander, RCOP Wisdom Akorli, expressed appreciation for the donation, describing it as timely. He assured that the pickup would be properly maintained and used strictly for operational purposes to improve security in the area.

Hon. James Gunu welcomed the gesture, noting that mobility remains a major challenge for many police stations across the Volta Region. He commended BSK and other private individuals who continue to partner government to support security delivery, stressing that such collaborations are critical to maintaining peace and order.
The Regional Minister underscored the link between security and development, indicating that effective policing is essential to the success of the government’s 24-hour economy agenda. He also called for stronger community–police relations, urging residents to cooperate with security agencies while encouraging officers to discharge their duties professionally.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by the Volta Regional Coordinating Council to promote development, strengthen security institutions and ensure the effective implementation of government projects across the region.
