The Member of Parliament for Ketu South and Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has facilitated the installation of five industrial solar-powered streetlights at the Aflao Border to improve security and visibility.
The intervention comes after years of non-functioning streetlights along the Aflao main border road. The original system, which used underground electrical cables installed during road construction, developed faults.
Officials say repairing the system would require digging up the road, which is not practical. As a result, solar streetlights were introduced as a reliable and cost-effective alternative.
For nearly four years, the Aflao border area has experienced poor lighting conditions, raising concerns about Night-time crime, Pedestrian safety, General movement after dark
The newly installed solar lights are expected to Enhance security at night ,Support safe movement of pedestrians and traders ,Improve visibility for drivers and border activities
