Former Presiding Member of the Ketu South Municipal Assembly and 2024 Parliamentary Candidate aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Samuel Wisdom Doe Haligah, has issued a strong warning against individuals allegedly frustrating the development of Aflao, declaring that the people of Aflao will no longer tolerate partisan politics and personal interests standing in the way of progress.
Speaking during the newly inaugurated Aflao Stakeholders Forum held at Agblekpui, the palace of Torgbuigah Adzonugagah Amenya Fiti V, Haligah passionately called for unity and collective responsibility toward the advancement of the municipality. According to him, Aflao has suffered years of neglect, political division, and stalled development projects despite its strategic importance as Ghana’s major eastern border town.
Addressing Assembly Members, youth representatives, traditional authorities, security agencies, and community stakeholders gathered at the forum, Samuel Wisdom Doe Haligah stressed that the development of Aflao must rise above political affiliations and personal ambitions.
“We would not spare anyone who deliberately sabotages the development of Aflao. Those who put partisan politics above the progress of our people must understand that the people are watching,” he stated. He clarified that his remarks were not intended as threats, but rather as a call for accountability and development-focused leadership.
“This is not a threat. It is development-oriented. Aflao’s future cannot continue to be sacrificed because of politics and personal interests,” he emphasized. The comments come amid growing public dissatisfaction over what Assembly members describe as the neglect of Aflao in the distribution of government projects and infrastructure within the Ketu South Municipality
