Volta Region Builds Economic Momentum with Pre-Fair Health Walk Ahead of 7th Trade & Investment Expo

Volta Regional Coordinating Council, in collaboration with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), has kick-started economic activities leading to the 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair with a regional health walk in Ho. The event sets the tone for what is expected to be one of the region’s most economically strategic fairs from 26th November to 8th December 2025.

Held under the theme “Healthy People, Healthy Region,” the walk brought together professionals from the public sector, private industry players, and community members—symbolising the growing partnership between government and business towards regional economic expansion.

Participants embarked on the walk from the Ho Teaching Hospital (Trafalgar), passing through major commercial corridors such as Housing, Ho Station, and OLA Senior High School, before converging at the Ho Sports Stadium for an extended aerobic session. The route highlighted Ho’s evolving urban business landscape and its readiness to welcome investors.

The initiative forms part of a deliberate strategy by the Regional Coordinating Council to promote wellness as a foundation for productivity. A healthier workforce, officials noted, directly contributes to stronger business performance, reduced absenteeism, and an enabling environment for enterprise growth.

Leaders from the AGI and the Coordinating Council encouraged residents and business operators to position themselves to fully exploit the investment openings expected at the upcoming fair. With sectors such as agro-processing, manufacturing, tourism, renewable energy, logistics, and creative industries expanding, the fair is expected to draw both local and international investors seeking opportunities across the Volta economic space.

The health walk is the first in a series of pre-fair activities designed to stimulate awareness and build business interest toward the 7th Volta Trade and Investment Fair. The fair will serve as a marketplace for partnerships, B2B networking, business exhibitions, and foreign investment exploration—reinforcing the Volta Region’s growing reputation as a rising hub for commerce and industrial innovation.

As the countdown to November 26 begins, the region is positioning itself to attract capital, spotlight its competitive advantages, and strengthen its contribution to Ghana’s national economy.
