Ahordo Family Demands Arrest of Suspect Taidu Ali, Raises Concerns Over Police Conduct in Christopher Ahordo Murder Case

By Hebrews Pouyeli Kumako

The family of late Christopher Ahordo has intensified its call for justice, openly demanding the immediate arrest and prosecution of Mr. Taidu Ali, whom they identify as a key suspect in the tragic murder of their beloved relative.

In a strongly worded press statement issued by Daniel Elolo Ahordo and delivered on behalf of the family by Edem Viglo Mensah , the Ahordo family expressed deep frustration over what they describe as troubling police conduct, institutional silence, and delays in bringing all suspected persons connected to the case to justice.

Describing Christopher’s death as a cold-blooded and heartbreaking murder, the family said their pain has been worsened by what they believe is a lack of urgency and accountability in the handling of investigations.

At the center of the family’s appeal is a direct demand for the arrest of Mr. Taidu Ali, whom they claim remains a critical suspect linked to the murder.

According to the statement, the continued freedom of the suspect has become a major source of fear, anger, and emotional distress for the family and members of the public following the case closely. The family questioned why decisive action has not yet been taken to apprehend Mr. Taidu Ali and ensure that he faces the full process of the law.

“We cannot understand why a murder suspect remains at large while a grieving family continues to suffer in silence,” the statement emphasized.

They insisted that justice cannot be selective and called on authorities to act swiftly before public confidence in the justice system is further damaged. The Ahordo family also raised concerns about what they describe as unsatisfactory police conduct throughout the investigation.

In the press release, they questioned the pace, transparency, and seriousness with which the case has been handled, suggesting that delays, silence, and what they termed institutional indifference are undermining trust in law enforcement.

The family is demanding clearer communication from the police and greater accountability in how the case is being pursued.

They urged the Ghana Police Service to demonstrate professionalism, urgency, and fairness, emphasizing that no individual should be protected or allowed to evade justice.

“Justice Delayed Is Justice Denied”

The statement repeatedly stressed that justice delayed is justice denied, warning that every passing day without meaningful action deepens the family’s grief and prolongs their suffering.

For the Ahordo family, the fight is not only about punishing those responsible but also about restoring faith in public institutions and ensuring that Christopher’s life is not forgotten.

“Our brother deserves justice. Our family deserves closure. The public deserves to know that the law protects everyone equally,” the family declared.

Adding his voice to the growing calls for justice, Bishop Prophet Bazooka Fire of the Volta Region, who was also present during the family’s press release, passionately called for fairness, transparency, and equal application of the law in the investigation and prosecution of the death of late Christopher Ahordo, as well as other similar unresolved deaths across the country.

Speaking with deep concern, the outspoken bishop stressed the urgent need for the Ghana Police Service and the judicial authorities to ensure equitable prosecution and strict adherence to the rule of law, warning that selective justice or procedural failures could further erode public trust in state institutions.

He questioned how a suspect connected to such a serious case could allegedly escape from police custody at the Adaklu Area 51 Police Station, describing the incident as deeply troubling and unacceptable.

“Amid all this grief and pain, how does a suspect manage to flee from police custody? The people deserve answers, and justice must not be compromised,” Bishop Bazooka Fire reportedly stated.

He emphasized that the family of Christopher Ahordo, like many others who have lost loved ones under tragic circumstances, deserves truth, accountability, and closure. He further called on security authorities to intensify efforts to recapture the escaped suspect and ensure that no one evades justice.

According to him, the handling of such cases must send a strong message that every life matters and that Ghana’s justice system remains committed to fairness, accountability, and the protection of all citizens.

The family’s public appeal has sparked sympathy and concern across Aflao, with many residents rallying behind their call for accountability.

As pressure mounts, community members are urging authorities to intensify investigations and ensure that all individuals connected to Christopher Ahordo’s death, including Mr. Taidu Ali, are brought before the law.

For the grieving Ahordo family, the message remains clear and unwavering: justice must not be delayed, denied, or abandoned.
