Member of Parliament for Ketu South Municipality, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has commissioned a newly constructed three-unit classroom block for the people of Ziorme in Aflao, reaffirming her commitment to improving educational infrastructure and ensuring equal learning opportunities for children across the municipality.

The commissioning ceremony, attended by community leaders, education officials, teachers, parents, and residents, was marked by excitement and gratitude as the new facility is expected to significantly improve teaching and learning conditions for pupils in the community.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Dzifa Gomashie emphasized the importance of quality education as a foundation for national development and assured the people of Ziorme that the classroom block was only the beginning of further educational support.

She announced plans to provide books, computers, and other learning materials to the school, with the goal of ensuring that pupils in Ziorme have access to the same educational opportunities enjoyed by students in urban schools. “I want the children of Ziorme to learn and compete with confidence just like children in schools located in urban communities. Education must not be determined by where a child lives,” she stated.

The MP stressed that digital literacy and access to modern educational tools are essential in today’s world and pledged to support efforts to equip the school with the necessary resources to bridge the educational gap between rural and urban communities.

Residents and school authorities welcomed the intervention, describing the classroom block as a major relief for both pupils and teachers who had previously faced challenges with inadequate infrastructure. Some parents expressed hope that the improved learning environment would motivate children to stay in school and enhance academic performance.

In interviews with News Volta, several community members praised Hon. Dzifa Gomashie for responding to the educational needs of Ziorme. A local resident said the new classroom block would bring dignity and hope to the community’s children.“This project means a lot to us. Our children now have a better place to learn, and we are happy the MP has also promised books and computers. This will help them compete with children anywhere,” the resident told News Volta.
