Samuel Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the opposition NDC has taken a swipe at the party’s flagbearer John Dramani Mahama over what he describes as a neglect to the Volta region, the party’s stronghold and hometown of its founder Jerry John Rawlings.
According to Mr. Anyodoho, who is the CEO of the Atta Mills Institute, the one-time President neglected the region after he assumed office.
He alleged that the only thing the opposition party’s leader could do for the region is recruiting some “infants” from the region to insult late Jerry John Rawlings.
“I just want John Mahama to give me one reason why Volta Region should vote for him. JJ was a son of Volta; Atta-Mills loved and worked for Volta; What did JM do for Volta apart from recruiting some infants from Volta to insult Rawlings?” he wrote via X on Monday, March 4.
The former NDC deputy chief scribe noted further that Mr. Mahama cancelled the eastern corridor roads just because it was going to benefit the Volta region.“Maybe; just maybe; I am going to begin to tell my people of Volta Region the massive disservice JM did to us. Why did JM cancel the construction of the Eastern Corridor Road? Why did he get rid of many Voltarians when he became President? He thinks we are fools? No way,” he wrote in a similar post.
