He explained that adverse weather conditions and increased demand, especially in urban areas like Accra, have caused widespread transformer damage, cable faults, and system overloads. He added that some outages go unreported because residents assume ECG is already aware.
“After the festivities, we recorded several damaged transformers and multiple cable faults. Fixing these comes with a significant cost,” he stated.
He urged customers to report faults promptly and assured the public that ECG is committed to restoring a stable power supply.
