Ketu South: CDD-GHANA Train Stakeholders In Municipality on RTI ACT, Corruption And Advocacy

The Center for Democratic Development (CDD) organized a two -days capacity-building workshop for CSOs stakeholders, representative , officials from the Ketu South Assembly , Market women on Corruption And Advocacy in the Ketu South Municipal

During the workshop, a committed groups was inaugurated to sensitize the public about the corruption and how to advocate,

Speaking to Volta Forum after the program, Mr. Edem Senanu, a lead consultant and research analyst at the CDD, explained that the workshop aimed to correct anomalies in the utilization of states resources and funds in country and Ketu South Municipal Assembly by the Duty-bearers.

Edem also highlighted on how weak governance practices in the municipality’s management and misappropriation of states funds denied the most people their shares of national cakes and causes financial Lost. “We decided to bring all the stakeholders together and organize this workshop to build their capacity on, effectively becoming a whistle blower and strategically advocate to yield result by using Ghana’s constitution and the ACT. when focusing on accountability and transparency in the management of the state fairs,” he added.

The committed groups will be equip to educate the public on the citizens right that’s in the constitution . Mr. Edem Senanu stated that this move is intended to inform the public on Right To Information ACT.

Mr. Edem Senanu , the senior led consultant for CDD Ghana encourage the all participants and their committed groups to use the recommendations outlined in the ACTION PLAN DEVELOPMENT GUIDE in advocating for an issue based related to corruption, stated that the workshop had been an eye-opener. “We will leverage various communication channels such as social media, radio, community engagements, and religious events to disseminate information about the activities of CDD-GHANA,” he said.
