The Ketu South Municipal Assembly is set to hold a stakeholders meeting on Wednesday , February 4, 2026, to deliberate on the proposed elevation of the Municipality to a Metropolitan Assembly status.
The engagement is expected to bring together traditional leaders, assembly members, opinion leaders, institutional heads, and other key stakeholders to discuss the criteria, benefits, and implications of the proposed upgrade.
Sources at the Assembly indicate that the meeting will provide an opportunity for participants to assess the Municipality’s population growth, infrastructural development, economic activities, and administrative capacity, which form part of the requirements for attaining Metropolitan status.
The proposed elevation is anticipated to enhance governance structures, attract increased government investment, and accelerate development across the Municipality if approved.
The Assembly is encouraging stakeholders to actively participate in the deliberations to ensure inclusive decision-making and collective support towards the growth of Ketu South.
